The Association between Acne Vulgaris and Stress among Adolescents in Kenjeran, Surabaya

Background: Acne vulgaris is the main skin disease problem for adolescents. The complication of acne in adolescents scars left on face, which affects stress levels. Stress has harmful potential when conditions exceed individual's ability to cope. Kenjeran area a tropical climate and weather are factors that cause vulgaris. Objective: This research aims study association between severity among Kenjeran, Surabaya Methods: used non-probability purposive sampling technique observational analytic method with cross-sectional design. Assessment was carried out by dermatologist using Lehmann’s Grading System levels were assessed Perceived Scale questionnaire 109 adolescent subjects. Results: highest frequency women aged 15 years. dominance mild moderate stress. It found at risk experiencing even though analysis results fisher-exact showed there no significant level (p=0.113). Conclusion: presence puts mild, moderate, or severe requires attention because can adverse effects affect into adulthood life.
